Lots of Updates, Lots of Change!

It's not been all that long since out last post, but man has a lot changed in just over 2 weeks!! Last time we blogged, we had our foundation walls installed. Since then, we've had numerous changes. The waterproofers came and installed the spray on liner, and then placed the foam board waterproofing (which also helps insulates the basement walls) on overtop of that. Following that, Tim came and braced the walls for the next step, which was the backfill, where they filled in the outside of the walls with gravel and then covered it up with dirt. Not long after that (maybe a few days I think?), it was time for the framing to begin, which was this Wednesday. As of today, the basement walls have been started, and the top 2 floors have been more or less framed. They will be back to finish the entirety of the framing this coming week. We've attached some pictures below (quite a few this time!).

Below is the interior of the garage with both sets of waterproofing applied.

Below is the porch foundation with with waterproofing.

Photo of the back of the house near the egress window, which shows the spray on waterproofing comes all the way up the block, with the board liner being slanted to go along with the approximate finished grade.

Wall on the outer side of the house where the kitchen will be.

This is the start of the backfill pictures, this is after a full gravel backfill and then adding dirt on top to be smoothed out later.

This is from inside the garage area looking out toward the front.

Below you can see where Tim braced all of the walls to help support the weight of adding the backfill. The braces will be removed later.

This is the porch foundation. Just chucking some dirt down in there apparently.

You can see how the finished grade will generally fall along that slope from the waterproofing board.

The materials for the framing are ready to go!

And let the framing begin!!

You can see here where the floor of the main floor will sit.

One of the few support posts for the basement. I think we'll eventually encase those to make it a wee bit prettier later on.
